Ultimate Baby Registry: You Can’t Live Without It!

Ultimate Baby Registry- You Can't Live Without It!Here it is…the Master List of all the baby products you’d be lost without! Keep them coming!

Bath Time

Mom of three, Adrienne R.’s must-haves:

  • I think everyone should definitely use a small space heater!! Seriously, thats all you need to end bathtime crying in the 0-6 month stage!! Point in the the direction of the baby, close the door a bit, and you are good to go until the little fingers and toes turn to raisins!

Mom of one, Erica G.’s must-haves:

  • We use Mustela everything: soap, lotion, diaper rash cream. Although for super dry spots, Aveeno Eczema cream is my go to! Mustela, Aveeno, and Pampers are our only true brand loyalties.

Mom of one, Lauren M.’s must-haves:

  • Bath books (like this and this) are clutch when Amelia refuses to sit down in the tubby.

Mom of one, Sarah A.’s must-haves:

  • The tub we received was a collapsable with an inflatable bottom. She slid ALL over the place the first months when we gave her a bath. Now that she’s bigger and has more control over her body it’s easier, but next time I get a baby tub I won’t get an inflatable one.

Mom of two, Tara S.’s must-haves:

  • After the first 2 months or so of comfy bath time with our blooming bath flower I have found that keeping it simple works wonderfully with the Whale of A Tub.
  • We have recently started using SheaMoisture soap and lotions for Quinn’s eczema and so far so good!

Diapering

Mom of three, Adrienne R.’s must-haves:

  • I say you need very little besides a good diaper and wipes! After the first, we got rid of the changing table, and haven’t regretted it at all. I love the Huggies Little Snugglers for the first couple months!
  • The only other thing I suggest is the Thirty-One Zipper Pouch to keep everything in inside your purse.

Cloth Mama of one, Anita B.’s must-haves:

  • Planet Wise Wet Bags– They come in a few different sizes and are used when we are out and about for not only diapers, but clothes/swimsuits as well.
  • Coconut oil is a must for us!
  • We use BumGenius and Charlie Banana reusable diapers. But [my husband] would only recommend the BumGenuis because Charlie Banana has a different (more complicated) adjustment system compared to other cloth diapers.
  • Here is the recipe we use for homemade baby wipes.
  • The Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep Database has helped us research numerous products to see whats safer out there!

Cloth Mama of one, Julie P.’s must-haves:

  • Planet Wise Wet Bags– I have lots and use then for all sorts of things and not just dipes! They are great for days at the beach or pool to keep wet items in as well. I have lots and use then for all sorts of things and not just dipes! They are great for days at the beach or pool to keep wet items in as well.
  • The bum genius diaper sprayer works amazingly for us! It’s super powerful and my dipes look washed before actually going into the wash. Just be sure to look up how to properly spray diapers on YouTube or your bathroom walls might get soaked.
  • Prob one if my fav items of all time – coconut oil! It’s all I ever use on Harper, and she’s never had a diaper rash…EVER! I’m not loyal to any specific brand, all I look for is unrefined & organic.

Mom of one, Sarah A.’s must-haves:

  • We’re 80/20 with regular/cloth diapers, so I’m FAR from hardcore, but when we do use cloth it’s Sunbaby. I’ve never had any issues with them. I usually do cloth overnight and on days I’m going to be home most of the time. I figure saving money on a minimum of 7 diapers a week is nothing to sneeze at. I haven’t ventured into the land of changing and CARRYING AROUND a dirty cloth diaper yet.
  • I have a foldable diaper carrier thing (technical name unknown due to lack of coffee) that holds about five diapers and a pack of wipes at Walmart. It’s so nice to toss it in the stroller and not have to worry about taking the whole diaper bag.

Mom of two, Shelby J.’s must-haves:

  • I am a die hard Target diapers girl.
  • I also love any Pampers wipes and refuse to use any others because they work so well.
  • I do however love this Huggies refillable wipe case for my diaper bag. I will say that the wipe case started to come apart right away, but I just hot glue gunned it back together and it’s been great. I hate buying all the disposable bags of wipes for my diaper bag so this is perfect.
  • Petunia Pickle Bottom diapers bags with their handy built in changing pads.
  • Also, the little pads that go on your changing table cover so that every time you have a mess, you don’t have to take off the entire cover.

Mom of one, Lauren M.’s must-haves:

  • I spent a lot of time buying into the idea that some diapers fit your baby better than ours – and that bad fits lead to blow-outs. Looking back (as a veteran mom of an almost 18mo, tuh!), I tend to think blow-outs just happen sometimes. I’ve been really happy with The Honest Company diapers. They’re not the cheapest, but they’re environmentally conscious and can’t beat the convenience of automatic delivery.

Feeding-

Mom of one, Erica G.’s must-haves:

Nursery-

Mom of three, Adrienne R.’s must-haves:

  • My number ONE overall must have….a sound machine!! We’ve used different ones, but I like the mybaby Soundspa Lullabye Machine. It’s small, makes a “good” (not annoying) white noise/ocean sound & has a nightlight you can turn on if you want it. As babies, I don’t think they slept well without it being on. But now they CAN, but I still use it…blocks dog barking, noise outside & us watching tv or visiting with friends after they go to bed. I should add they sleep with their doors wide open too. We even take it on long trips in the car!

Mom of two, Tara S.’s must-haves:

  • I didn’t use a sound machine at first, but now even I prefer it over dead silence for sleep. Also helpful to drown out sounds when you have more than one. Mine don’t necessarily require it for sleep…but I don’t go without if I don’t have to.

Mom of one, Erica G.’s must-haves:

  • We have the Marpac Sound Machine! I love it because it isn’t obnoxiously loud but it covers up the dogs barking at nap time. I think JR sleeps better with a sound machine, but it isn’t necessary for us to travel with.

Mom of one, Lauren M.’s must-haves:

  • Marpac Sound Machine– I don’t think Amelia gets white noise at school, but we’ve never gone without it at home.

On-The-Go-

Mom of one, Lauren M.’s must-haves:

Summer Baby

Mom of three, Adrienne R.’s must-haves:

Mom of one, Lauren M.’s must-haves:

  • I’m a big fan of this sprinkler for summer yard play. It’s cute and made of flexible material, which is great for the inevitable head-first dive.

Teething-

Mom of one, Anita B.’s must-haves:

Ultimate Baby Registry: 9 Baby Accessories Every New Mom Needs

Ultimate Baby Registry- 9 Baby Accessories Every New Mom NeedsThese must-have baby accessories need to be on your baby registry. Just click on photos and/or product names to find out where to purchase. FYI: I have not been compensated by any of the brands endorsed below. These are my own recommendations, baby-tested and mom-approved.

Semikolon Save Box1. Semikolon Save Box Since I’m a saver, but not necessarily a shadow-box-maker kinda mom, I picked up this box to this to store all of the trinkets (hospital bracelets, teeny tiny blood pressure cuff, bassinet name plate) and congratulatory cards from Madeline’s birth in. It is super nice quality, sturdy and comes in a ton of sweet colors!

Playskool Glowworm2. Playskool Glowworm Oh, Glowworm, you cute, weird, little light-up, lullaby-playing worm! You are the master of distraction, saving us from many a dramatic diaper change and carride. And the staying power on you!? More than two years later and Madeline still lulls herself into a glowing trance with your tunes. We love you and don’t know what we’d do without you!

JellyCat Bashful Bunny3. JellyCats Hands down, these are the most adorable, softest stuffed animals ever. Once you go JellyCat, you’ll never go back. Madeline’s favorites are from the Bashful collection (Lamby, Puppy and Bunny). Benjamin has collection of his own; current favorites are his Bartholomew Bear and Bashful Donkey.

Pat the Bunny4. Pat The Bunny Put your little baby’s brain and hands to work at an early age (I’m talking 2-3 months) with this timeless classic. You’ll be stunned to see how quickly they master each page!

The World of Eric Carle- The Very Hungry Caterpillar5. Soft Crinkle Books Soft cloth books that crinkle are a little baby’s best friend. They’re great in the car and great in the crib for buying a few minutes of crinkly peace!

I am a Bunny6. I am a Bunny One of my childhood favorites, I am a Bunny should be a staple in any child’s library. Engaging illustrations by Richard Scarry easily keep baby’s attention. Plus, there are so many adorable things to point out on each page — “Where’s Nicholas?” We’ve been reading it for years and it still hasn’t gotten old. Highly recommend.

Miyim Stroller Toy7. miYim Stroller Toys Anything by miYim is adorable. They’re made from organic cotton and plant and mineral dyes, so you can really feel good about giving them to your child to bat at and chomp on. We have three of the stroller toys — the look and their little musical chimes are fun without being obnoxious (a fine line when it comes to baby entertainment).

Manhattan Toy Skwish Classic8. Manhattan Toys Toys that help both refine motor-skills and satisfy a need to put things into the mouth are a gem. Manhattan Toys kills in this category. Another favorite: this.

Little Tikes Easy Rider Truck9. Ride-On Push Toys Ride-on toys that double as push toys are great for babies learning how to cruise and walk. They’re ideal for building up those little leg muscles and for building up your baby’s confidence!

Ultimate Baby Registry: 8 Teething Products Every New Mom Needs

Ultimate Baby Registry- 8 Teething Products Every New Mom NeedsThese teething must-haves need to be on your baby registry. Just click on photos and/or product names to find out where to purchase. FYI: I have not been compensated by any of the brands endorsed below. These are my own recommendations, baby-tested and mom-approved.

Sophie the Giraffe Teether1. Sophie the Giraffe Teether I don’t know what it is about this overpriced little mammal, but babies really do love to bite her head off! And she’s just the right size and shape for them to easily manipulate. Plus, she squeaks! It’s a splurge, but it’s a good one.

Honest Company Teether2. Honest Company Teether Easy to clean in the dishwasher, this silicone teether is great for little baby hands to grab on to and hang on to. You can even throw it into the fridge or freezer for added teething relief.

Mam Cooler Teether3. MAM Cooler Teether The MAM Cooler Teether is great for freezing or cooling in the fridge. The plastic ring to hold on to keeps their hands comfortable, while the little tentacles filled with water keeps their gums comfortable. Maddie would nosh away on this teether constantly.

Hyland's Teething Tablets4. Hylands Teething Tablets These homeopathic, dissolvable tabs came highly recommended to us. And while I can’t say for sure these are a fix-all (since I was usually guessing “teething” behavior at all the wrong times), I did find that after popping a few of these little melty guys into Madeline’s mouth that she’d instantly become a lot more pleasant. Worth trying, especially when they’re too young for Tylenol.

Boiron Camilia Teething Relief5. Boiron Camilia Teething Relief Much like the magical teething tablets above, this homeopathic liquid luck often helped calm our irritable teether. Besides coming highly recommended and reviewed, Maddie loved drinking these drops front the individual serving-sized droppers.

Amber Teething Necklace6. Amber Teething Necklace Really? Another homeopathic remedy, you say? Listen. Teething is no joke. And if putting an adorable healing necklace is the key to my child’s happiness and well-being, then you can bet I’m gonna put them in an adorable healing necklace. I’d try anything, and you will, too. Trust me.

Honest Company Toothpaste7. Honest Company Toothpaste This safe to swallow children’s toothpaste is fluoride-free and contains no artifical sweeteners, flavors or dyes. The natural strawberry flavor is a real winner in our house and a total incentive for Madeline to keep her chompers clean.

GUM Crayola Children's Toothbrush8. GUM Crayola Children’s Toothbrush Seen one pint-sized toothbrush, you’ve seen them all. Except that this one has a little suction cup on the bottom which is not only hygienic (keeps the brush off the bathroom counter) but is super fun to stick all around the bathroom — on the counter, on the mirror, etc.

Hey, moms and dads! Tell me…what are your teething must-haves?? Leave your suggestions in the comments below, and I’ll compile them all into my Ultimate Baby Registry: You Can’t Live Without It! post! XOXO, Allison
