My Project: Minky Burp Cloths
DIY Handmade Baby Burp Cloths

I tried this: May 2012

Alterations: I used minky fabric (instead of chenille).

Thoughts: I said I wouldn’t, but I did. I used minky again. I was determined to get a better grasp on this fabric. I went crazy pinning my fabric together, placing pins one inch apart (which kept the minky from stretching and sliding as I pulled them out to sew). The finished product is a really nice sized burp cloth (not some rinky-dink mini-cloth that doesn’t cover your clothes). Washing after sewing shrinks the cotton, but not the minky (so even if you have extra cotton fabric v. minky after sewing, it works itself out quite a bit after going through the drier). I really love these.

  1. SOOOOO CUTE! I wish I had a sewing machine so I could make my own and choose my own fabric!! I’m not crafty in the sewing department though.

    • I don’t have my own sewing machine. I go over to my friend’s house and borrow hers. She taught me everything I know! Although, I may need to start looking into getting my own soon. They are pretty handy.

  2. You can never have too many burp cloths!
    Those are so cute!!
